Of Times and Seasons:

That we are living in strange and perilous times is obvious to even the spiritually blind. Calamity abounds upon calamity, rampant nationalism is on the rise, old alliances are being sorely tested. Signs of impending judgment on this sinful world are there for all to see.... is anyone taking notice?

Most Western nations that were either "birthed" as Christian nations, or at the very least were built upon a strong Christian foundation, are rapidly turning away from those principals.... often in the name of tolerance. As people turn from God, the ancient gods rush to fill the void.

What was once called evil, is now trumpeted as good, was wrong is now see as right. We are indeed living in "the times of Noah"

“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually” Genesis 6:5

As our nations descend into depravity and darkness, we are seeing Scripture being fulfilled  before our eyes... For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane. Timothy 3:2 Amplified Bible

We need revival.... When the 40th American President Ronald Reagan (1981-1989) took his oath of office, he did so as tradition dictates, with his left hand upon a Bible. What was different about Reagan's Bible was that it was his Mother's, and it was opened to a very specific page. A page upon which his Mother had made some notes. The verse in question?  If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.             2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV

The President's Mother had written in the margin of her bible, "What a wonderful prayer for the healing of the nations." Throughout history, when darkness has begun to swallow the light, God's people have prayed that prayer. This verse is a clear admonition that we, God's people, are responsible for  restoring and  healing the land. Our duty as Christ followers is to humbly pray, and turn from OUR wicked ways.

Prayer changes things, it turns the tide, defeats the enemy... during the very dark days of World War Two God used a man of great faith and prayer to turn events around. That man was Rees Howells.  God used another man of prayer during those days as well, King George V1 of The United Kingdom, who spent a part of each day in prayer, called the nation to prayer on June 6th 1945 (D-Day) and asked for  “earnest, continuous and widespread prayer”

Hear the "King's Prayer"  Here

The story is told of  a little boy who prayed "Lord take care of my daddy, my mommy, and my sister and brother, my doggy, and me. And oh, please take care of yourself God, cause if anything happen to you, we're all gonna be in big trouble."

Sadly, many believers think prayer is the responsibility of a certain group of people in a local church. The "Prayer Group" Some also erroneously believe that we should pray when we are under pressure. Undoubtedly, there are those who believe because of the sovereignty of God, whether we pray or not it makes no difference because at the end of the day whatever God wills before you pray is what happens.

Furthermore, because engaging our mind in prayer is quite tasking, there are some who resort to praying in unknown tongues. When you ask them afterwards why speak in tongues, their response basically is because they don't want the devil to hear and hinder their prayer. Prayer is a sign of obedience and is the responsibility of all believers. It is incumbent upon all of us to pray always, time and duration is not the key, but faith-filled prayer is!
