Just in case anyone doubts that Jesus really meant His offer, He added a codicil to His original offer!

Not only is our future home located in a very desirable neighbourhood, the architect of the whole city was God Himself! 

For he (Abraham) was [waiting expectantly and confidently] looking forward to the city which has fixed and firm foundations, whose Architect and Builder is God. Hebrews 11:10 Amplified Bible

This grandeur of this city is simply beyond human understanding… it includes all of the following…

It’s a city without pain... the word sorrow is without meaning.
There is no sickness or death.
There is no darkness there. The Lamb of God is the living light.

It needs no sun... or moon!
There will be no tempter there. Temptation is kept well beyond the city limits!

Imagine a place where we will be free from sin; where pollution cannot enter, and where the righteous shall reign forever. Think of a city that is not built with human hands, where the buildings

do not grow old with time; a city whose inhabitants no census has numbered except the Book of Life, which is a heavenly directory.

Think of a city through whose streets are crime free, where no hearses creep slowly toward the cemetery; a city without grief or graves, without sins or sadness, and without the pain and heart-breaking loss of mourning. A city which glories in having Jesus for its king, angels for its guards, and whose citizens are saints!

Our “landlord” will forever grant us access to His court, and He will freely and willingly accept our devotion.

No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. Revelation 22:3-4
