No orders, except from the King!

Major-General Sir George Younghusband, the Keeper of the Jewel House of the Tower of London, England held a unique office during his tenure in the role.

From 1936 until 1952 his commanding officer was none other than the King of England! He enjoyed a curious privilege, recorded in the archaic language of his charter that stated that "he hath no superior officer in Court or Kingdom". Imagine that..... answering only to the King!

The Keeper of the Jewel House was charged with protecting the Crown Jewels, and ensuring their safety. My wife and I have seen those jewels in the Tower of London, and it would be hard to imagine a greater collection of unparallelled wealth gathered together in one place, and harder yet to imagine that anyone could steal them!

Just as the Keeper of The Jewels received his orders from the King alone, we too have received our orders from the King.... the King of the Universe!

And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. Go you therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatever I have commanded you: and, see, I am with you always, even to the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20

We are commanded to be at work evangelizing non-believers, and yet how many of us actually do this…?

Chances are dear reader that you were evangelized "into the Kingdom" and possibly right now you are at work evangelizing family members and friends.

There are an estimated 2 billion Christians in the world today, so we don't each have to evangelize very many people to reach everyone on the planet!

We have our orders.... what tools do we need to complete the task? Remarkably few actually.

1: Authority. Preach the word; be urgent in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.
2 Timothy 4:2 MKJV

2: Resources: The Holy Spirit is our source and supply. And they were all filled of the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Acts 2:4 MKJV

3: Inspiration: When the Love of Christ moves and melts our heart, we want to melt and move the hearts of others. For the love of Christ controls and urges and impels us, because we are of the opinion and conviction that [if] One died for all, then all died. 2 Corinthians 5:14 AMP

4: One aim: When our attitude is right with the Lord, we aim to please Him. Therefore we are also laboring to be well-pleasing to Him, whether at home or away from home. 2 Corinthians 5:9 MKJV

5: One principle: Therefore, my beloved brethren, be firm (steadfast), immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord [always being superior, excelling, doing more than enough in the service of the Lord], knowing and being continually aware that your labor in the Lord is not futile [it is never wasted or to no purpose]. 1 Corinthians 14:58 AMP

6: One condition: And he said to them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Matthew 4:19

7: One purpose: And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:11 MKJV

Equipped with those tools even a "baby" Christian can become a force to be reckoned with!
