All is well with the world!

In Jerusalem a young Arab man climbs aboard a bus headed into the busy commercial heart of the city. Concealed beneath his loose fitting robes, strapped against his taut stomach muscles are several pounds of explosive, with a detonator tied to his wrist. As he sits, nervously waiting to reach the stop next to the police station, where he will send himself and as many Jews as possible into eternity, he looks into the bright eyes of the eight year old Jewish girl sitting beside him. She smiles and offers him a piece of the chocolate slab that she is eating. This one simple act of kindness strikes deep into his heart and breaks his resolve… he exits the bus at the next stop, finds a soldier and turns himself in.

At the World Track and Field Championships, not even one athlete tests positive for any “performance enhancing” drug, nor does any official from any country competing demand that times and results be challenged, or even questioned. The atmosphere of peace and goodwill invades the hearts and minds of all present, resulting in many of the thousands of competitors and spectators forming life-long friendships.

In a lonely New York apartment, a solo mom, heavily pregnant with her third child, sits wondering where she can possibly find the $1200.00 to pay her overdue rent. Her landlord has given her until 9.00am tomorrow to come up with money or else she and her children face eviction. In the six months since her husband, alarmed at the prospect of another mouth to feed, walked out she has used every cent of her savings, and all of her credit cards are “maxed” out. In desperation, she cries out “God help me!”  Just after midnight her phone rings… “Hello honey” says the familiar voice… “I know I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, but the biggest was walking out on you, I’m so sorry”… He pauses, and hearing her quiet sobbing continues… “I have managed to save a few thousand dollars; I want to come home...will you take me back?”

In Sydney, Australia, an elderly couple reduced to abject poverty when their “trusted” family lawyer embezzled them out of their home and the $90,000 that was their life savings, sit at their kitchen table, planning their suicide pact, when there is a knock at their front door. A representative of the legal firm has arrived with an emotive and effusive apology, the title deed for their home, a check for their original $90,000 plus an additional $50,000 to defray their legal expenses, and recompense their stress and worry.

In Brighton, England, a husband says to his wife, “Darling, you have a sleep-in this morning; I’ll make breakfast
for you and I will  then look after the kids.

I’ve arranged for you to have a make-over this afternoon, and here’s our new credit card, use it for a little shopping spree, when you get home, the evening meal will be waiting for you. Tonight it’s just you and I at home, your mother is going to be looking after the children.”

In a busy laboratory in Paris, France, a team of technicians, working on a solution for the virus causing a world-wide pandemic, make a breakthrough and successfully test a vaccine, which is then quickly manufactured and distributed at production cost, to all.

In a prison in the USA, a man falsely accused of a serious crime 15 years ago, a crime for which he has steadfastly  maintained his innocence, is told that another man has come-forward and driven by his conscience, confessed. The freed prisoner is released immediately, a judicial apology issued, substantial compensation immediately awarded, and the man's family reunited. The man writes a best-selling book about his ordeal. The ex-prisoner donates all profits from the sale of the book to organizations battling to free prisoners wrongly imprisoned.

Some of these things may or may not have happened recently, but whether or not they did, one thing is sure, God is still on His throne.

The LORD is in his holy temple, the LORD'S throne is in heaven: his eyes behold, his eyelids try, the children of men. Psalm 11:4

God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne. Psalm 47:8 NIV

All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations will bow down before him.  Psalm 22:27 NIV

We can rest in the sure knowledge that God’s throne is fixed, and the affairs of His universe are administered with justice. The righteous, therefore, may hope in His protection, and we need not flee when the wicked assault us. God’s eyes behold - He sees everything in all parts of His vast empire, and therefore He knows all the purposes of the wicked, and all the wants of the righteous. He is not ignorant of what our enemies are doing, and He is not ignorant of what we need.

They will fall down before Him who also sits on the throne, and will cast their crowns before the throne saying, 'Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things, and because of Thy will they existed, and were created. Revelation 4:10-11
